Steps to move storeoncesoftware host to new one

In The Cell Server:

1. Make a safe copy of the IDB just in case. VERY IMPORTANT.

In the Source StoreOnce Host:

2. Note down the output of this command showing the Root of your Store/s:

C:\Program Files\OmniBack\bin>StoreOnceSoftware.exe –get_server_properties

Store Root: d:\storeonce

Existing Stores: 1
Available Stores: 31
Disk Capacity: 298 GB
Disk Space Free: 187 GB
Read only: OFF

3. Stop the StoreOnce service -> net stop StoreOnceSoftware

4. Check that the StoreOnceSoftware service has been successfully stopped:

C:\Program Files\OmniBack\bin>StoreOnceSoftware.exe –get_server_properties

The daemon is not running, please start the daemon first.

In the Destination StoreOnce Host:

5. Install the StoreOnce agents

6. Stop the StoreOnce service -> net stop StoreOnceSoftware

7. Check that the StoreOnceSoftware service has been successfully stopped:

C:\Program Files\OmniBack\bin>StoreOnceSoftware.exe –get_server_properties

The daemon is not running, please start the daemon first.

8. Move the disk containing the Store Folder to the new host.

9. Copy the file C:\ProgramData\OmniBack\Config\client\StoreOnceSoftware\sytem.db from the old system to the new system.

10. Set SOS omnirc variables. In case you had set any in the original host.

11. Force StoreOnce service to use the old store root:

storeoncesoftware –configure_store_root x:\storeonce –force (this will only work if the StoreOnceSoftware service has been stopped)

12. Check that the Store/s are up and running:

C:\Program Files\OmniBack\bin>StoreOnceSoftware.exe –get_server_properties

Store Root: x:\storeonce

Existing Stores: 1
Available Stores: 31
Disk Capacity: 298 GB
Disk Space Free: 187 GB
Read only: OFF

C:\Program Files\OmniBack\bin>StoreOnceSoftware.exe –LIST_STORES

Store Name: Store1
Store Id: 1
Store Description: Data protector store
Store Status: started
Store Autostartable: ON
Store Readonly: OFF
User Data Stored: 31 KB
Store Data Size: 16 KB

Listing of the stores succeeded.

In the GUI:

13. Select the original SOS device, right click -> properties -> Stores and Gateways -> change the Deduplication system and Gateway to the new host -> press APPLY.

14. Make some tests, scanning slots, maybe try several backups and restores to check that everything is working
